It is fine for the government to ignore the wishes of the parliament if...
parliament makes a decision I don't like
parliament only made the choice by a percent or two
parliament made a choice that had some negative consequences
government thinks that parliament might not have thought about it enough
government thinks it might have asked the wrong question

Following the european referendum
I am happy with the result
I am unhappy with the result, but the people have spoken
We should have another referendum on the same question, until we get a better result
parliament should just override the result with a better one
we should somehow force Europe to negotiate against their wishes, spend two years not really being in or out, and then hold another referendum to see if we get a better result
My favourite fix for future referendums
They should never happen. We elect representatives, and they should make decisions for us.
They should need a supermajority to pass. If you can't get 60% of the people then you can't change anything.
They should go along with massive fines for anyone lying for political gain.
Is not needed. Regardless of my opinions on this result, the process was fine.
