I haven't had a whole week off work in a long time (possibly a year, definitely several months), and I've been looking forward to this one for a while now. I stopped being able to do anything creative quite a few weeks ago, as my brain just wasn't able to settle unless forced, and while I have a few things I'd like to do over the Christmas break* I can't face starting a project right now.
On the other hand, I came down this morning feeling somewhat rested, discovered that nobody else was about yet, and was stuck with the feeling of needing _something_ to do to distract me, and not having anything handy**.
This feeling usually lasts the first couple of days of holiday, and then I manage to both relax into a state where I can happily just relax on the sofa with a book, and (shortly thereafter) feel creative enough to do something for myself. I'm really looking forward to it.
*Primarily getting my LJ's style sorted out so that it's less godawful, and getting the interface for creating multiple jobs for posting feeds in place. Oh, and reducing the 665 emails in my inbox to an awful lot less.
**I had, of course, already caught up on LJ and my feed list in bed.
