A passing thought

Mirror Neurons fire when we perform an action, or when we observe someone doing that same thing.

I am curious as to whether they also fire when we are told about a similar event occurring. Because there's a mechanism _somewhere_ in us which allows stories to function in the way they do, and I'm wondering if it's this.
