Reload this!

I just booked me and Erin into the 20:30 performance of Matrix Reloaded on the 21st at the Warner village.

This seems to be 2 days before it's released, but it seems Warner's isn't going to let that stop them exploding my head with sheer explodey joy.

If anyone else wants to join us, I'd wander over to and get booking....

The equations of resistance

From A Few Notes on The Culture

If in a sizable population there are one hundred rebels, all of whom are then rounded up and killed, the number of rebels present at the end of the day is not zero, and not even one hundred, but two hundred or three hundred or more; an equation based on human nature which seems often to baffle the military and political mind.

Political compass time again

This one's come round again and I don't have my previous result handy.

I score -2.12 on the economic left/right scale and -6.31 on the libertarian/authoritarian scale.

Meaning that I think that companies need to be regulated, but to the minimum necessary and that on a social level you can bloody well keep your hands off of my body.

Thake the test yourself here

Great article on how you need to get lots of idea out - including the bad, unworkable ones, before you can refine things to the point where they're any good.

The more I read about great masters in different fields, the more I see how there is a common thread in their work process. Every great writer, painter, architect, or director attributes the quality of their work to tireless discipline. When asked about their artistry, they don't point to magic or divine inspiration, but describe how many attempts they must make to create things of the quality they desire.
