vi and emacs are both antiquated pieces of software written before anyone had the blindest idea how to design a UI and belong in a museum.

Oh God Yes.

I was forced to use Vi at university, and the only excuse was "It was 1990". Nowadays, I don't think there is one.

The court decision that streaming is not a breach of copyright seems to me to be perfectly in line with both the current law and the definition of copyright. (Of course, the passing off laws may still apply.) The law was not designed for this, and will have to be revised, to include streaming, if that is what the Commission and the EU parliament decides. Copyright is a protection against copying, no more.
